About Angela

Angela is an artist, art teacher, early childhood educator, and mom to a nine-year-old who loves to make art.

She entered university planning to study graphic design, but quickly fell in love with painting during her first fine arts class. Until then, Angela had never believed she was “talented” enough to draw or paint. That changed under the guidance of inspiring fine arts professors at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. She graduated with a degree in painting and a minor in drawing, and soon after began teaching as a children’s art instructor at the Pittsburgh Center for Arts and Media.

After moving to Los Angeles in 2008, Angela taught art at several LAUSD elementary schools and private preschools throughout Northeast LA. Working with preschoolers became the highlight of her week, leading her to complete an Early Childhood Education credential at LACC. She spent the next decade as a full-time early childhood educator before creating Tiny Art.

The Tiny Art Mission

Young elementary students need fun  extra curricular activities but they also need more time to PLAY, the freedom to get MESSY, and the chance to be outside in NATURE! Tiny Art Class is a weekly two hour after-school art class for Kinder - 3rd grade designed to fulfill those needs. Class takes place in Griffith Park, surrounded by redwoods, hiking trails, and all kinds of beautiful tiny creatures. The children begin each class with  free play, before participating in a structured art class that focuses on open-ended projects. After clean-up the children will have time leftover to continue with self-directed projects or play with their friends.
