Watercolor Habitats with Clay Animals

Tiny Art loves a good mixed media exploration. After weeks of working with watercolor paints and various clays, the children were tasked with creating a clay animal from colored modeling clay (this clay never dries and stays supple for hours of sculpting and manipulation) and a watercolor habitat in which the animal could live. Many of the children chose to employ a variety of watercolor techniques we have learned this year: wet into wet, painting with a dropper, incorporating salt, and using washes to cover large areas.
